We have a collection point at our Kia – Feeder Road dealership in Bristol where people can drop off any clean, unwanted clothes they have as well as books, CDs, DVDs and homeware.
Everything that is donated will be given to St Peter’s Hospice to sell in one of its 47 shops in the Bristol area so the better the quality of your items, the more money we can raise.
St Peter’s Hospice is our Charity of the Year so we are always looking for ways we can fundraise for them.
All donations must be useable, clean, complete and of saleable quality.
Last year we managed to raise £200 from the items we collected and this year we are aiming to raise more than £500 from the collection so we hope lots of people will help us to reach our target.
St Peter’s Hospice cares for adults with life-limiting illnesses. As Bristol’s only adult hospice, it cares for more than 2,000 patients each year as well as supporting family members.
Edward Smith, Corporate Fundraiser at St Peter’s Hospice in Brentry, said: “It’s fantastic that once again Wessex Garages is providing people with a collection point. It is an easy way for people to help us raise funds and also clear out some much needed space for their new summer wardrobe.
“All our services are provided free of charge but this care costs around £19,000 a day. For around £14,000 of that, the hospice relies on the generosity of the local community and corporate support like this is vital.”
